Major (R) Coyea ET Kizzie is a distinguished Army Officer and seasoned hospital administrator with over four decades of service to her country and community. With a career that bridges military leadership and Academic Medicine, Coyea exemplifies a lifelong commitment to discipline, compassion, and operational excellence.
A decorated officer in the United States Army Signal Corps, Coyea has served in numerous leadership roles, leading teams in high-pressure environments across both domestic and international assignments. Her career highlights include overseeing large-scale military telecommunication operations during Operation Desert Storm, overseeing numerous major communications initiatives such as the early implementation of tactical mobile communication systems. Coyea holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. She completed the prestigious American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) Leadership Course and served as a member of the WellStar Institutional Review Board for more than 10 years. She has served in numerous positions as a member of the National Board of Directors for the Association of Hospital Medical Education.
